Xiaomi 17 Max officially teased, featuring a massive 6.9-inch 1.5K OLED display and an unprecedented 8000mAh battery.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it boasts a 200MP Leica-tuned main camera for flagship-level photography.
Expected to start around ₹60,000, this premium device targets users seeking top-tier performance and extreme battery life.

Xiaomi officially released the first teaser of the Xiaomi 17 Max yesterday, May 13, 2026. The company’s president Lu Weibing himself posted on Weibo that the phone will be launched in China later this month. It is a new member of the Xiaomi 17 series – not just a larger screen, but a “fully upgraded” model.
Expected Specification of Xiaomi 17 Max
The phone is expected to feature a 6.9-inch flat LTPO OLED panel with thin bezels, 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It is premium compared to the Xiaomi 17, but there is no additional secondary display on the back like the Pro Max. As a result, a large battery can be seen here. There are three color options – Black, Blue and White. The camera module follows a rounded-square design.
The Xiaomi 17 Max is expected to pack an 8000mAh battery – this is the largest battery in the history of Xiaomi branded phones. There is support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. On paper, the large battery could deliver excellent endurance, though real-world testing will tell the full story.
The phone is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the processor. With LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, the performance will be flagship-level. From daily tasks to gaming – everything is likely to provide smooth performance. Xiaomi says this is more than just a bigger Xiaomi 17. The company is positioning it as a more complete upgrade.
It is likely to have an IP68 rating, which will help protect against dust and water. It is also known to have an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and symmetrical dual speakers.
Camera Setup with Leica Tuning
Xiaomi’s number series has traditionally focused on camera performance. At the back, there is a 200MP main sensor (Samsung ISOCELL HP series), a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto – all with Leica tuning. It is expected that details will be better in daylight. Real-world zoom, ultrawide and low-light performance will become clearer after hands-on testing.
Pricing and Availability (Expected)

After the launch in China (Weibo), the price may start from around 5,199 yuan (approximately ₹60-65K in Indian rupees). There is no official news of a global or Indian launch yet. The Xiaomi 17 series has already received a good response in China. This Max version will target users who want a large screen and long battery.
In essence, the Xiaomi 17 Max is a large-screen flagship where battery and performance have been given priority. If Xiaomi delivers the expected specs at the right price, the 17 Max could become an interesting option for users who prioritise battery life and big-screen flagship performance. After the launch, it will be clearer how well it fits within the budget when we see real world testing and camera performance.
