HMD Vibe 2 5G officially launches in India on May 21 via Flipkart, featuring a 120Hz display.
This budget-friendly device packs a massive 6000mAh battery and is powered by the capable Unisoc T8200 chipset.
With an aggressive starting price of just ₹8,999, it aims to heavily disrupt the Indian smartphone market.
HMD Vibe 2 5G is launching in India May 21 at 12 noon. Tech analyst Abhishek Yadav has leaked the full specs and price of the phone in his exclusive X post. A few days ago, a launch page of this phone went live on Flipkart, where “HMD Coming Soon” is visible.
This is basically going to be a phone in the budget segment. According to reports, it has a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This will generally boost the multimedia experience. However, since the resolution is HD+, it is not right to expect very sharp images.

You will see a large 6000mAh battery in the phone and it has 18W charging support. Although it does not have fast charging, it is quite compatible with a large battery.
Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by a Unisoc T8200 chipset. While it is perfectly capable of handling everyday casual tasks, heavy gaming or intense multitasking might lead to thermal throttling and minor stutters. It is a little better than the previous generation Unisoc chip, but it lags behind when compared to the current Dimensity or Snapdragon chips.
The camera setup has been kept simple. There is a 50MP main sensor on the back and an 8MP front camera on the front. This type of camera is usually not perfect for high-level selfies or photography. However, it is sufficient for general photo taking and video calls. There is an IP64 rating, which means the phone will be protected from dust and light splashes of water.

HMD seems to be adopting an aggressive pricing strategy to capture the Indian budget market. Abhishek Yadav’s X-Post has revealed that the phone will be available in three different configurations.

- 4GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹9,999
- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹10,999
Due to HMD’s partnership with Flipkart, you will see this as an exclusive product on Flipkart. Although the full details of this phone are yet to be officially revealed. However, we hope to know more about it after the launch.
