Motorola Razr Fold 2026 is launching in India this May via Flipkart as the brand’s first-ever book-style foldable, directly challenging Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series.
The ultra-slim device weighs just 243 grams and offers an 8.1-inch 2K LTPO OLED inner screen with 120Hz plus a 6.6-inch 165Hz outer display.
Powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 with up to 16GB RAM, triple 50MP cameras, 6000mAh battery, and 80W fast charging, it is expected to cost ₹1.4-1.6 lakh.

Motorola is preparing to launch its first book-style foldable smartphone in India. A dedicated launch page has been opened on Flipkart which clearly states “Coming Soon”. This phone has already been shown in the global market at CES and MWC 2026 and has also been launched in a few countries. Now, looking at the teaser of its arrival in India, it seems that it can be launched around May 26.
This launch could introduce a new alternative in the premium foldable segment, currently dominated by Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series. Motorola has previously worked only with clamshell-style Razr phones, but this time it is bringing a book-style foldable with a large screen for the first time. Looking at Flipkart’s launch page and Motorola’s official post, it is understood that the company is really going to do something interesting for Indian buyers this time.

From what we know about the device after the global launch, it is very thin and looks premium when opened. The global version’s inner foldable screen is an 8.1-inch 2K LTPO OLED panel. It has a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. The outer cover display is 6.6 inches and can support a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. Both displays have been seen with high brightness and good protection.
In terms of design, it is a little different from other foldables. Motorola has used a thin profile and premium materials here. The weight is around 243 grams, which is fairly balanced and well distributed for a foldable of this size. Some variants are said to have vegan leather or other premium finishes.
Camera, Performance and Battery
The camera setup is quite strong, with three cameras on the back, including a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP telephoto lens. The inner display is expected to feature a 20MP camera, while the outer screen may include a 32MP front camera. According to the report, it can perform well in night photography and video recording.
It uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset for performance. It will have 12/16GB of RAM and 256GB to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage options. It uses Silicon Carbon technology with a capacity of 6000mAh, which is quite good for a foldable phone of this type. It will also have 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support. It will also have IP48/IP49 rating, stylus support (Moto Pen Ultra) and Android 16 based software.
Launch Date and Price Expectations
Motorola seems to be launching the device soon, with such a sudden big promotion, and it may be seen in May (May 26). This phone was launched in the global market at a price of $1,899 (approximately ₹1,60,000). It is estimated that the price may be reduced slightly to between ₹1,40,000 and ₹1,60,000 when it is launched in India. However, the official price has not been announced yet.
All in all, the Motorola Razr Fold is bringing a new and competitive option to the Indian market. It seems that it will directly compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series. Everything is still at the teaser level, so it is better to see the specs, real performance and user reviews after the launch and then make a decision.
