Since the launch of Motorola’s Edge 70 series in India, many have been talking about its performance and design. But within a few weeks of the series’ launch, discussions have started again about a new model. And its name is Motorola Edge 70 Pro+. Reports say that it is actually the global Edge 70 Pro version that will be renamed and launched in India as Pro+.
For those who have bought or wanted to buy the Edge 70 Pro, this may be a bit of a mixed feeling. Because the Edge 70 Pro launched in India had both the telephoto camera and wireless charging removed. Whereas the global version had these two features. Both those features are coming back in the Pro+ version. In other words, this is the “proper” version of the global Pro that is now coming to India.
Design and Color Options
The design will remain the same as the Edge 70 Pro, but some premium finishes have been added. The leaked renders show that there will be multiple attractive color options – white, turquoise, dark blue, red, maroon and brown. The rear camera module is square in shape. Some variants are seen with vegan leather, tailored fabric or wood-grain finish which will feel very premium in the hand. It will weigh around 190 grams.
Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Specifications (Expected)

The display will have a 6.8-inch 1.5K resolution curved AMOLED panel. It may have a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support and a peak brightness of up to 5200 nits. It is said to have Gorilla Glass 7i or equivalent protection.
The camera setup is one of the highlights of this phone. There will be three 50MP sensors on the back – Sony LYT-710 main sensor (with OIS), 50MP ultrawide (12mm equivalent) and 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens (81mm equivalent). This telephoto lens was not on the Edge 70 Pro, so it is a big upgrade in the Pro+ version. The front camera is a 50MP AF sensor. Leakers say this camera setup can give good performance in night photography and zoom shots.
The phone is expected to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset. Along with LPDDR5X RAM (12GB) and UFS 4.1 storage. The battery is 6500 mAh silicon-carbon technology, which will support 90W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. With IP68/IP69 rating, there will be good protection from dust and water. Other features are expected to include NFC, AI keys and Android 16-based UI.
Expected Launch and Pricing in India
Motorola usually launches its Edge series models in phases. The Edge 70 Pro has already been launched and the starting price of this phone is ₹38,999. Talking about the price of the 70 Pro+, some leakers say that it can be between ₹45,000 and ₹50,000. This will be slightly more than the Edge 70 Pro because it has added additional features.
Although there is no concrete news about the launch date of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ yet, it is expected that it will be seen in the Indian market by the end of May. While the similar specs might confuse some buyers, a significant price gap is expected to justify these minor upgrades.
