The OnePlus Nord 3, OnePlus’s most popular smartphone, is finally receiving a major OxygenOS 16 update. While the update was released on December 23rd, it will take some time to reach all devices. Let’s quickly find out what’s new.

OnePlus has officially confirmed that OxygenOS 16 has been released for the Indian variant of the Nord 3. This means you’ll see some new and optimized features. While there aren’t any groundbreaking features, the performance does seem to be slightly boosted.

The version number of this new update is CPH2491_16.0.2.400 (EX01). The update file size is approximately 3.8 GB. Since this is a major OS update, the file size is quite large, so it’s recommended to use a high-speed internet connection like Wi-Fi. The device should also have at least 50% battery charge.

  • Before updating, go to the device’s Settings App.
  • Then, you’ll find the System & Updates option, where you’ll see the Software Update option; click on it.
  • Finally, you’ll find a Beta Program option; clicking on it will show the new version. You can then click on “Update Now” to install this new software version.

Please note that this is a beta update. If you are a stable user and prefer to install only stable versions, wait a little longer and avoid this update.

OxygenOS 16 Features

After installing this update, you’ll find new features such as Fluid Animation, Mind Space, AI features, and many more. The animations have been made faster and smoother with this new update, which users will notice during use. Many new AI features have been introduced, such as AI-powered photos, AI-powered notes, AI recording, and AI voice scribe.

There’s also a new wallpaper option with many interesting wallpapers. Apps like Touch to Connect and OnePlus Connect have been enhanced for better connectivity and faster sharing. Network optimization has also been improved. The camera app now includes an AI-enhanced dog scanner, ready to assist users instantly.

The Phone Manager app has been further improved to perform powerful and faster virus scans. Additionally, you can now hide or unhide any app by simply touching and holding it, and a resize option is also available.

Some users have recently received this update, and according to their experience, no major bugs have been found so far. However, some users have reported issues like a green line appearing on the screen a short time after installing the update. Therefore, before installing the beta update, make sure to confirm whether there will be any problems after the update.
