A new microsite has suddenly gone live on Flipkart. It is called “HMD Coming Soon on Flipkart”. When you open the page, you only see a teaser. According to some reports, HMD’s new smartphone is going to come to the Indian market soon. It looks like the first HMD phone of 2026 will be launched here.
Actually, HMD has a pretty good partnership with Flipkart. The company was earlier associated with Nokia, but is now starting anew under its own brand. It is said that it wants to bring AI-featured phones between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000 in the Indian market. No official name or date has been announced yet, but the microsite going live is a big signal.
Expected HMD Smartphones in 2026
Some online sources are saying that HMD may bring two phones – HMD Crest 2 and HMD Crest 2 Pro. These are being called the successors of the previous Crest series.
HMD Crest 2 Specifications (Expected)
It features a 6.78-inch sAMOLED display, FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is expected to feature a 50MP main camera, paired with an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP additional sensor. A 50MP selfie camera is expected on the front. It is also expected to pack a 6000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Android 16 out of the box. The price of the 6GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is estimated at ₹14,999.
HMD Crest 2 Pro Specifications (Expected)
The same 6.78-inch sAMOLED display but with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Pro variant may come with a similar setup, but with a 64MP main sensor featuring OIS. The battery is the same 6000mAh + 33W charging. It may have 8GB RAM with 256GB storage configuration option. Price is estimated at ₹16,999.
Both phones are expected to feature AI-based features, which will be the big highlight of HMD’s new lineup. The launch is likely to happen in the third quarter of 2026 (July-September). However, these are just expectations as there is no official confirmation yet.
A microsite has been created on Flipkart which only says Coming Soon. If these leaks turn out to be accurate, HMD could be targeting the budget segment with a strong focus on battery and AI features.
